President - Judy Whitehead Judy has been Flight Nursing for a total of 14 years, all within the RFDS. She began in 1986, undertook further education in Emergency Nursing in Victoria between 1989 and 1994, and has progressed through the ranks to reach her current position of Nurse Manager of the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section based in Broken Hill. Judy says her job combines her two passions of Emergency Nursing and Flight Nursing which she regards as the best mix in the world. Since 2000, Judy has been a member of the FNA Committee and has been President since 2003. |

Vice President - Maree Cummins Maree has been involved with RFDS since 1987 and began at the Mount Isa Base before moving to the new RFDS base in Brisbane in 1995. Maree is currently employed as a Senior Flight Nurse/Training Coordinator at the RFDS (Qld Section) at the Brisbane Base. In her role Maree is involved with the orientation of New Flight Nurses as well as the training needs of operational staff (Medical Officers, Flight Nurses and Pilots) at all bases and is a preceptor and assessor for the Rural and Isolated Practice Endorsement course for Registered Nurses. |

Secretary - Judi Shields Judi began Flight Nursing in 1988 with a three month orientation to Aviation Nursing at the Gove Aerial Medical Service. In 1990 she became a full time Flight Nurse with the Darwin NT Aerial Medical Service and during that time she often acted as the relief Manager of the NT Aerial Medical Service. She is currently on 6 year Maternity leave from the NT Department of Health and has been doing some Casual work for the RFDS Queensland Section, which she loves. In 2001 Judi was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to travel to the US to further her research into fatigue in the air medical environment. Judi loves to fly and enjoys the diversity of patients and scenarios Aviation Nursing presents. She has been involved in the FNA Committee since its inception and is one of its past Presidents. |

- Margaret Tabone RN, RM, Bachelor Health Science (Nursing), Graduate Diploma Emergency Nursing, Trauma Certificate & Aviation Nursing Certificate Margaret
currently works for the Air Ambulance Service of NSW as a Clinical Nurse
Specialist and as the acting Senior Flight Nurse. Margaret has been a
flight nurse for the past nine years and still thoroughly enjoys the
daily challenges of the aeromedical environment. Margaret’s nursing career has been based in metropolitan Sydney and the central coast, working in all areas of nursing, but has had a strong focus in Emergency Nursing both as clinical nurse and in a management role.
